"Understood, " replied Brandy, while having his head down. He didn't dare to say anything else.
"Forget about it. You wouldn't understand even if I explain it to you, " said Zayn in an irritated tone before he growled, "Go deal with the media."
"Understood."
Brandy left the room to deal with the matter immediately. The situation was already terrible, but if they don't move quickly, it would spiral even more out of control. The only thing Brandy could do at that moment was to work as quickly as possible to minimize the damage.
"I'm sorry, " replied Benard, who was feeling ashamed. He informed, "I know that things are bad, and I won't deny responsibility. I just want to say that I truly am not powerful enough to fight against the culprit behind it all."
"Have you learned of the culprit behind it?" asked Zayn. Naturally, he understood that Benard wasn't weak or didn't work hard enough. There are just things that Benard simply can't settle on his own.
"It's likely linked to Ms. Giblo, " answered Benard with a frown, "Everything points to her as the mastermind."
"She is crazy, " growled Zayn. He was so angry that his face distorted when he roared, "She would risk the entire Giblo Group just to get her hands on more money and power."
"Also, " said Benard before he paused and continued, "Layon had been calling me over the past two days. He said that he wants to talk to you. I feel like…"
Benard didn't voice out the rest of the sentence. He simply stared fearfully at Zayn.
"You suspect that the Bendays are behind what happened yesterday?"
Zayn recalled everything from the night before. There were a lot of things that didn't make sense. For starters, he had a pretty good tolerance to alcohol, so it was unlikely that he would go dizzy from consuming that small amount of alcohol. He was even unconscious for over ten hours…
"That is just my speculations. I'm not sure yet because there's no evidence to prove one way or another, " added Benard softly, "Moreover, Ms. Benday doesn't seem like someone who would do something like that."
"Is there any news from the hospital?" asked Zayn to change the topic.
"Mr. Jombo's condition is stabilized, " replied Benard, "But Ms. Giblo's men have been circling around and trying to get into the room. Ms. Giblo had contacted Mr. Thompson a few times to learn about Mr. Jombo's whereabouts."
"Get the car ready. We're going to the hospital, " instructed Zayn, "And call the office. We'll have a meeting at four in the afternoon."
"Understood."
Zayn changed his outfit before he rushed down the stairs.
The kids were having their meals in the dining room. When they saw him there, they greeted in their cute voices, "Daddy, come, have some food."
"Daddy is busy, " informed Zayn as he hurried over to give the kids a hug, "You three be good and eat well before you go to class, okay? I won't be able to play with you three this weekend, but I'll take you overseas after I'm done working, okay?"
"Daddy, when can we visit Great-grandpa in the hospital?" asked Josh, who was understanding.
"A few days later, " replied Zayn as he checked his watch, "I'll take you guys over once your great- grandpa's condition becomes better."
"Then can we go to the mall this afternoon?" asked Randy nonchalantly, "We've been home studying over the past two days and haven't gone out to play. I'm so bored."
"What's so fun about the mall, anyway?"
Zayn was a little hesitant about letting them leave the house. They were at a crossroads, and things would be bad if anything were to happen.
"Grand Plaza has a huge children's play area and offers a lot of activities, " replied Randy with a straight face on, "the most important bit, however, was that it has a huge Lego City there."
"Yeah, and there are tons of things to play there, " added Josh quickly.
"Oh, come on. You two are…"
Venus was about to protest when Josh suddenly nudged her.
"Why are you nudging me?" asked Venus as she stared curiously at him. She hadn't caught up with the boys.
"Okay, " agreed Zayn. He thought that it wasn't right to keep the kids cooped up at home, so he promised, "I'll have Bugara take you guys there, but you must promise to behave and listen to him. Don't run too far, got it?"
"Got it. Don't worry, " promised Randy, while nodding with a smile.
"Yay, we can go out and play!" cheered Josh happily.
"I have to go, " informed Zayn. He quickly stroked all three kids' tiny heads before he turned around and left in a hurry.
Just then, Dori suddenly flapped its wings and called out, "Mommy, mommy!"
Zayn turned around and looked over. All he saw was Josh stuffing some food into Dori's mouth to stop it from talking too much…
Zayn didn't think much of it. He hurried into the car.
