When he turned to see who was talking, it was Chris. At first he was bewildered, but when his mind settled, he went into panick, falling to the ground on his knees.
Before the classmates could understand what was going on, the thug had thrown his knife away, and had began to bow to Chris, "I am sorry sir, I really didn't know that you were here, I swear I didn't see you!", he cried and pleaded.
Chris too was surprised, he looked at the thug in confusion and asked, "Do you know me?"
"Yes sir, Mr. Chris, I am one of brother Bones's subordinate, I saw you back at the Classy mansion!", he replied.
Chris immediately understood.
It was Overl Hong's subordinate, Mr bones, the one who dealt with Aaron, Linda and Benjamin at the classy mansion, it seems this guy was there as well.
That explains why he is scared of him.
When even the great Overl Hong saw him, he was terrified to his knees, how much more his subordinate's subordinate.
The classmates were damn surprised. Lilian was most surprised, it felt like she was dreaming.
No one expected that a thug that even Phillip dared not talk back at after recieving a beat down, to bow to Chris, and be this terrified.
Nora too was really surprised, "What's going on? Who is he?", she asked Chris.
On hearing her question, Chris immediately got scared, he feared that she might think he had something to do with these thugs, "I really don't know him", Chris immediately replied.
When the thug saw this, he immediately understood and said, "I don't know Mr. Chris, And he doesn't know me. I just keep hearing his name and I seriously admire it!"
This useless son-in-law?
Why is this thug so respectful to Chris?
The reality seemed too magical for anyone to accept.
The thug immediately turned to Griffin and said, "since you are Mr. Chris's friend, from now on you can assure your place's security, we got you covered no charges added. If there be any problem, I'll help you solve it!", he said.
When everyone heard this, they couldn't be get more confused.
Lilian was overjoyed. Today has been really thrilling.
Just because of Chris's presense, they were able to save 40% of their profit. And to top it all up, this thug has agreed to protect them without collecting a penny.
Now they can run their business peacefully, Chris is a life saver.
"Chris, I truly am grateful for this!", Griffin said.
Chris replied with a smile.
The thug turned to Griffin who laid unconscious, "I am sorry sir, I am very sorry for beating your friend", the thug said worried.
"It is okay, he really isn't a friend, I just know him!", Chris replied.
"Besides, you sending him to the hospital doesn't affect Griffin's opening ceremony", Chris added.
"Then we truly will send him to the hospital sir, as long as it doesn't bother you!", the thug replied.
When he was done talking, he greeted farewell, took Phillip and hurried away.
They all looked at Chris now with big eyes, as opposed to how they previously did when he arrived.
They couldn't figure out why Chris's status flew this high.
The once known to be live-in son-in-law has transformed to someone else.
And now they all tried hard to be on his good side, even Lilian who initially looked down on him.
Lilian began to treat Chris like a god, she went on endlessly expressing her gratitude, as far as giving a free pass to eat at their restuarant when ever he pleased.
Chris didn't care though, all he wanted was to raise Griffin up.
But in everyone's eyes, Chris was a magician.
They were all curious to know what secrets he hide underneath his sleeves.
