Standing in front of this scene, it felt like my heart skipped beats.
What's this pain?
I couldn't understand it.
And couldn't bear it either.
I wanted to walk away, at the same time, I didn't want that to continue.
I took a step away, looked back and in anger, I walked up to them and called her name: "Xender!"
On hearing my voice, she was shocked.
"I want to talk to you!", I said as my eyes glared harshly at Davis who's face was now indifferent.
When she stood up, I noticed that her eyes were red, seemingly has been crying.
I put my hand forward, opening my palm for her to place hers on it.
She looked at it for a moment, then my face and finally held.
With a little force, I pulled her to myself and we walked out of there.
"I am sorry!", I said after walking some distance away from where I took her.
"I was so stupid! You've done so much for, I just……", before I could complete my sentence, her lips was on mine.
Although it was just for a couple of seconds, I felt a totally different feeling.
As soon as she took her lips away from mine, she hugged me and we remained quiet.
It felt as though this moment should never end.
All my regrets, pains and wants evaporated in that moment.
Just the someone coughed awkwardly behind me.
Only then did we refrain from the hug in shock.
"Sub commander Xender!", The messenger like fellow said.
"Yes?!", Xender replied harshly like the sub commander I knew her to be.
"The commander requested for you!", He replied with a bow.
"Go tell him I am busy!", She replied harshly.
"But…", the messenger spoke and held back.
"But?", Xender asked harshly.
"Sorry ma'am, I'll go tell him what you said!", He replied.
"Hold up!", She said as he was about to walk away.
"Tell him, I'll be there…", she added.
"Yes sub commander!", He replied with a more relaxed expression and walked away.
"I have to go!", She said looking at me.
"I understand", I said looking at her beautiful eyes.
She walked away as I watched.
After about 3 steps, she ran back, kissed me once again and ran away without looking back.
I stood there with my hand on my lips as I watched her walk away.
I turned back to walk back to the health center when I saw Davis watching from the side of a tent.
As soon as he saw me, he walked away casually.
On seeing this, I sighed and walked away.

While walking back, I realized that the number of tents had reduced drastically.
There were more wooden houses and some were even on one another like the main chambers. The only difference was the design and materials used.

On getting into the health center, I walked straight to Medusa's room.
"Derick!", I heard a familiar voice call.
I turned back to see who it was.
"I am sorry about my brother…", April said as she walked closer to me.
"How's Medusa?", She asked.
"I am going to find out…", I replied as I continued walking.
On getting to the room, I opened the door and walked in.
"How's she?", I asked Ms. Judith.
"She's fine, just taking a rest in the incubator", she replied.
"It works?", April asked surprised.
"The incubator? Of course it does!", Ms. Judith replied confidently.
"How were you able to make it work?!", April asked eagerly waiting for Ms. Judith's answer.
With a smile, Ms. Judith replied: "My husband is an engineer…"
"He can do that too?", April asked.
"Yeah…", she replied smiling.
"You are really lucky… having a husband that powerful", April said looking at me smiling.
Ms. Judith began to laugh out loudly.
"Derick's not an engineer!", Ms. Judith added.
"But he's powerful enough to make a change…", April replied and joined in the laughter.
I looked at both of them and without smiling I turned to Ms. Judith and asked: "Engineered anything fancy to wear?"
On hearing my question, she began to laugh.
"I guess you are going for the feast tonight…", she said.
"You guessed right!", I replied.
"Don't worry then, just come around in the evening before going and I'll hook you up with something nice to wear!", She said with a smile and a patt on my back.
"Thanks Ms. Judith!", I appreciated.
"Anything for you Master Derick!", She replied with a smile.
"You are going for the feast?", April asked as I walked away.
"Yeah!", I replied as I opened the door.
"I thought you ignored the commander's request?", She further inquired.
"I changed my mind!", I said as we walked out of the health center.
"Come to think of it… I have to place to stay…", I replied.
"…You can stay with me!", She said almost without thinking.
"Aren't you staying with June? How's he going to feel about it?", I asked.
"June's room is different from mine. Don't worry about him…", she replied.
"Okay, have any edibles? I am hungry…", I said with a slight smile.
"Really, let's go then, I'll go make something up!", She replied with a smile as she pulled me by my arm.
