The first questioned popped up.
'22 x 50'
Roger although a bit tensed up, pause for a few seconds and inputed the answer.
The next popped up.
'824 / 8'
When he saw this, he paused for a few seconds put up few fingers as he longered at them and motioned them around and then finally inputed an answer.
This went on for the next 8 questions and the time was revealed.
'42 seconds'
He exhaled heavily and stepped back.
"Nice one Roger!", Sam patted him on the shoulder as he smiled and looked at me.
"Your turn!", Roger looked at me and pointed at the machine.
"Alright...", I smiled lightly and stepped forward.
The game was started and I watched the first question pop up.
'32 x 65'
On seeing the question, I knew the answer, but I can't be too fast to answer.
I paused slightly and observed it, then slowly inputed the answer.
On seeing this they watched me and were somewhat excited in their hearts, it took me about 5 seconds to finish the first and at the 11th second I hadn't finished the second.
I went through the questions and in that manner, I finished at 51 seconds.
When they saw this they were all very excited.
Roger had surpassed me with 9 seconds.
Sam's previously drumming heart had eased a bit.
It was Roger's turn again and he engaged in the game once again, this time he finished in 50 seconds.
When they saw this they were a bit scared but considering my last which was 51, Roger still beat it.
I went on board and ended up with same 50.
"It's a tie!"
Someone yelled.
Sam and Roger's heart began to drum once again.
"Boss I think we need to crank this thing up a bit!", Someone whispered to Sam. As soon as he heard this, he looked at me with guilt in his eyes and waved his hand slightly gesturing they don't.
This gangster still has a bit of conscience.
"You have to redo this round!" Sam said looking at Roger.
With that's Roger was up again and this time he was alot more focused.
He finished this time with a 43.
He walked back looking at me with 'beat that' eyes!
When I went up the next time, I finished with a 45.
"Yeah!", Majority of them exclaimed.
"One more win Roger, I believe in you!", Sam patted Roger's back.
With more confidence and a less sped up heart beat.
Roger walked towards the Math Machine and began to play.
Final score, 44!
"Woah!"
"He still beats the snow boy's all time best!"
They voiced from end to end.
Any who had been following closely must have noticed the gradual rise. But only a few like Roger and Sam are taking this into consideration.
I went up and my score was 43.
"He won?!"
"He's coming up!"
"His previous is never higher than his present!",
They whispered amongst themselves.
With a slight smile, I stepped back and left the machine to Roger.
He went up with his heart slightly drummimg faster and came out with a 45.
"Roger!!", Sam yelled with horror in his voice.
He obviously didn't even know when he yelled liked that.
With a smile, I stepped forward and ended with a 42.
"Hmmm! Finally getting the hang of things!", I smiled and stepped backwards.
"He won again!"
"This kid actually has a shot at winning!"
"Who would have thought!"
"You're right Tony, his new scores are always better than the previous!"
They spoke amongst themselves.
"Enough!!", Sam yelled.
"There's too much chattering! If I hear one more word, I'll cut off that tongue!", The angry Sam roared.
"Easy big guy... It's just a game!", I said with a smile.
Unable to hold back himself, he charged at me.
"Brother Sam!"
"Brother Sam!!"
People yelled as they held him.
I looked at him and couldn't help laughing at him in a scornful manner with the purpose of spiting him; I want to see how bad this clown can get.
"I want a break....", Roger who stood motionless in front of the machine finally said.
"You want a break?", Sam's horrorful eyes stared at Roger.
"Get him a drink!", Sam added.
"Brother Sam, you are with all our funds!", The person replied.
On hearing this Sam gritted his teeth and looked at me.
"623.... Nothing less..", I said with a smile.
Sam looked at me and obviously wishing he could kill me.
"…Just play Roger! You can do this!", Sam full of anger turned to Roger.
The pressure mounted on Roger made him sweat profusely. He looked like one who had the weight of the world on his shoulders.
"Brother Sam, I am not sure I can do this!", Roger who was about to cry turned to Sam with wet eyes.
"You have to Roger! You have to!!"
Sam's previously endorsing and confidence boosting look to Roger had become aggressive and murderous.
Roger looked at me whose smile remained fixed, gritted his teeth and placed his hand on the game.
With a deep inhale, he began to play with all seriousness.
Answering 5 questions in 18s.
On seeing this, the crowd began to cheer.
Others around having their various chosen player had their hearts drumming like crazy, especially the ones who placed bets. But amongst all Roger and Sam's heart drummed the most.
Popped up on display was: '40 seconds'
Those who place their bets on Roger cheered.
"That's my boy!"
"Math God!"
"None can top him!"
"Roger!!!"
They cheered.
"Keep calm, snow boy has been climbing ever since!"
"Remember his new always surpasses the previous!"
"I believe in snow boy!"
Sam heard a little bit of these but said nothing as he looked at me.
"Do it!", He whispered to the guy who earlier suggested cheating.
