Swoosh!
A mysterious sharp wind blew passed Kay with a great force.
"Ahhhh!!" He exhaled after a few seconds like one who crossed to the afterlife and back.
He quickly grabbed his neck and looked at his hands, checking for blood.
"None can fully accept the reality of death. Nonetheless none can avoid it when the time comes.", She added and turned to the crowd.
"Quailians! Hear me and hear me good! An inevitable darkness is coming, no not one soul can avoid it! It's closer this day than it was any other day. The only future you can save is your well-being. Don't trust what you see.... The darkness will come in form of a light.", She added.
"My first rule as the ruler of Pregillia is to be independent. There will be no imports nor exports!", She added confidently and walked away with the cold presence she brought in.
All who heard her speak remained quiet, especially the last man who also came for the competition. He wasn't even given an opportunity to speak; but how dare he speak now?
Some of the pregillians prayed in their hearts that she doesn't end up being the ruler even though they knew deep down in their hearts that if someone else's name was called it was definitely false, they still hoped and prayed for a miracle.
How are they going to survive without imports and exports?
Phytillia's food?
Sicilian's tools, equipment's and furnitures?
Precillia's order?
Helilia's herbs?
What can they do without them?
To them, they are actually the inferior ones, not necessarily needed by other cities, but they, they may not be able to survive without others.
Only a few, said nothing about Isabella's decree. They felt in their hearts that since she had a clearer peak of the future, she probably had a good reason for making such a decision and so could only accept with gritted teeth.
Misha looked at the witch walk away and as though the air was suddenly filtered, he took a deep breath and turned to the crowd.
"That was.... That was one hell of a prophecy!", He spoke trying to squeeze out a smile.
Just then, the guard came and whispered something into his ears.
He cleared his throat and said: "And the ruler of Pregillia is, Miss Isabella Porsha!"
As soon as his voice fell, the atmosphere only became alot more gloomy.
Like one who didn't write a test being told that he failed; no surprise there, but the pain is still felt for some reason.
On this note, Kay who now looked like a living corpse and the other man walked out helplessly.
"Next up, we have the Precillian masters!", He said and several boards having different sizes of circles painted in different shapes were brought out in front of them as a ring door was opened.
From the ring door came 3 men and 2 women empty handed.
In a short while, some knives were brought by the Quailian main guards in a tray.
……
During this time Miguel had been trying to get into the execution ward.
In Quaila, there were 2 execution wards.
One was for public humiliation, while the other was for private killing.
The public was usually used when the victim had family members or loved ones whom the executor wants to punish as well, while the other, was for more private case. There criminals with no familiars were killed; or those who the executor wants to exit the world in a more honorable way. Kings, Apical or shoulder Rulers.... Etc.
For someone like Mercury who had no family members, this was used.
Palmer wanted him to have a honorable death.
But who would have thought that, the same Palmer who wanted him dead had sent someone to have stop them execution.
Afterall even after his execution order, the prophecy still remained the same.
Miguel at the time was looking for away to sneak into this ward having gone to the other and found no one; before coming over, he persuaded Clark to take Kayla and Claire to find a way to Lord Palmer.
"Who are you?!", Someone asked standing behind Miguel with a sword on his neck.
To be continued.....
