……
Pow!
Miguel caught Clark's hand mid way to Kayla's face.
Kayla closed her eyes and raised her hands up in an attempt to block.
Had it not been for Miguel, she would have died from Clark's unrestrained slap.
"My Lord!", Clark spoke angry.
"Don't!", Miguel looked at him with a stern expression.
Clark walked back and was boiling in anger.
"My Lord she doesn't deserve to live!", He added.
"Who made you the judge of who lives and dies?!", Miguel asked.
"You are going through all this because of her, don't you feel wronged?!", Clark asked.
"I did.... But not after hearing her story!", He replied looking at the beautiful Kayla crying.
"So what?!!", Clark spoke angered.
Miguel looked at him more sternly, he quickly realized how disrespectful he is being and bowed slightly
"I am sorry My Lord, but.... But.... Slash!", He stomped his feet on the floor.
His stomp made the ground treble a bit.
Claire quickly ran towards Kayla and held her tight.
"There are no buts, wether I was conscious or not, she carries my child!", Miguel added.
"If you touch her, you touch my child and so me!", Miguel spoke firmly.
Although displeased, Clark could only bow and force out a "yes My Lord!" But deep in his heart, he hated Kayla to the bone.
In his opinion, such an act is only punishable by death.
Women like her is why he doesn't know his father.
"With her story, there's only one thing that we can be sure of, my father's in big trouble! We have to go quickly.... If we are fast enough, we can stop the prophecy!", Miguel added now understanding the meaning of his father's dream which was prophesied to him by the old man.
"We can't afford to sleep!", He added.
"But My Lord, with all due respect, prophecies have never been averted. The only person whose safety is assured is the child, ours is not! I advise we leave Quaila before someone goes to the temple.", Clark advised.
"There's a first time for everything! I can't let my father go down just like that!", Miguel replied tightening his fist as he looked at the fire burning in their middle.
"Lord Miguel please! I have see these demons, they don't show mercy!", Kayla pleaded.
"If you all are so scared, leave! I'll go on my own!", Miguel said as he turned to leave.
"My Lord!", Clark gritted his teeth and knelt on one leg.
"I vowed to myself that I will not leave your side!", He added bowing.
Unexpectedly, Miguel turned to him and abruptly rushed to pick him up, off the ground and hanging in the air.
"Who sent you?!", He asked as Clark's legs dangled in the air.
"My Lord!", Clark coughed.
"Answer me!", Miguel added aloud, convinced that Clark's loyalty was way too unnatural.
"....your father...", Clark replied with a depressed expression.
"I knew it!", He added and let Clark fall.
"Dad still cares!", He said as he began to walk away.
"Lord Miguel!", Kayla called.
"We can't survive without you guys!", She added holding Claire's hand.
On hearing these words, Miguel's heart tightened; Kayla now has his child, the little girl's parents were killed and one of their death was his fault... would he just leave them to die?
He turned back and looked at the crying girls and said sympathetically: "There's no time to send you guys to Phytillia and come back to get my father!"
"Clark you have to go with them!", He added.
"My Lord, I am not leaving your side", Clark spoke stubbornly.
"That's an order Clark!", Miguel added.
"I am sorry My Lord, an order above makes me unable to leave your side.", He added.
Miguel looked at him and was speechless for a moment, then he turned to the helpless Kayla and Claire.
He thought about their safety, how that if he carried them along to the Apical battle, and the demon was summoned, they definitely wouldn't survive it.
And in the process of defending himself and Kayla, others may die in the process, because of these demons' non-chalant style of action.
And also there's no guarantee that his presence would stop the death of his father.
And his father wouldn't sit idle and watch him die and so would defend him as well. This on it's on will lead to his father's death.
He at this point could clearly see that this was a wrong and irrational move.
He looked up to the sky, exhaled heavily and asked: "what's tge quickest way out of Quaila and where do we go from there?!"
When he asked this question, everyone's face lit up.
Kayla most especially.
She experienced mixed feelings; on one hand Miguel had decided to abort his dangerous plan, but on the other hand, he didn't plan to go to Phytillia where her father was, but out of Quaila entirely.... Isn't that equally dangerous.
"I'll look at the map I purchased My Lord, it should show the best paths and nearest Kingdoms from the time it was made!", Clark replied and stood on his feet.
"My Lord, I am sure this is what your father would have wanted; betrayed by.....", Clark added and paused, tightening his fist.
Miguel saw this and immediately could tell what Clark wanted to say next.
He nodded his head frantically and said firmly, with tears in his eyes like a child whose play toy had was taken away: "we can't just leave like that!! I want his head!"
