"We have to get to the hospital quick!", Lois said as she helped me get to my car,
which was parked outside, "be careful, try not to lay your back on anything, we'll be there in no time!", Lois said as she helped me get into the car.
Lois drove a lot crazier than ever; the ride was fast and furious, hitting bumps on the road was not pleasant at all, some drove my back to the chair and as many times as it happened I screamed in pain.
We soon got to the hospital, " Emergency!!", Lois yelled as some of the nurses came to my aid, the car door was opened; "my God!", one of the nurse said on seeing my back, " Emergency!!", she yelled as they brought the stretcher, and by the help of two male nurses I was put on it and taken to the emergency ward. "Call doctor Barry!!", a nurse said as she arrange the hospital bed where I was to be laid on; it all happened in a flash, the pain increased and it felt like the sore was getting bigger, consuming more area, I was injected and in less than 30 seconds I became drowsy.
"he should be up...right about now!;", I heard a man standing beside me say, "Mr Rich", he called as I opened my eyes, " I am doctor Barry", he added, "the pain has been temporarily neutralized, but would kick start in less than 30minutes, because the drugs we have here can't do much against this virus;", he said, "virus!?", I heard Lois exclaim, " yes madam virus; a very rare one indeed, there's only one man I know capable of making such, and he works mostly with the DDA.", he said and paused; he looked at me and then at Lois, "wait, are you guys of the DDA?", he asked dramatically, "nope!", Lois replied, "seems you offended a personnel!", he added seeming to start panicking, " quickly you guys need to leave!", he added, "I am Rich Baztad of the DDA", I said bringing out my badge from my pocket, " that's an LAPD badge, "just a sec!", I replied as I reached deeper into my pocket, "oh!", he exclaimed on seeing it, " still, who did you offend?", he asked, "Diana!", i replied, "you offended the Hell's queen of punishment, Mrs yuvatzki!!?", he added aloud panicking even more, " not anymore!", I replied, "you have to leave!", he added and was about walking out the door; " what do you mean not anymore?", Doctor Barry asked standing at the door way, "she did something and is currently in the DDA's custody", I replied, "how do you know so much about the DDA?", Lois asked, "....I...I studied the DDA with my friend Liang", he explained, "since you are too scared to help us, tell us more about this Virus", Lois requested, "even if I wanted to help, I really can't, there's only one person I know that can", he added, "and who is that?", I asked, "his name is Liang, and he is dead", he replied, "how long has he been dead?", I asked, "a couple months now", he replied, "where is his workshop?", Lois questioned, "it's been abandoned since then so there's no need wasting your time", he added obviously hiding something, "where is his workshop?", I asked again as I stood up from the bed and walked closer to him, the fact I was shirtless added to the interrogation, "it's...it's....", he stammered, "I can't tell you", he added closing his eyes expecting me to do something to him, "you don't want to tell us about the virus; and you still don't want to tell us about the one person who can help us out!; what kind of doctor are you?", Lois asked furiously as she walked closer to I and the scared doctor, "....the virus was made by Liang, he would be in a better position to tell you about it", he replied, "and you said he was dead, you are obviously lying; tell me the truth!!, where can we find him?", I asked him as I put a hand on his shoulder, "I'll send you the coordinate!", he said in fear, "how long before this antidote wares off", I asked, "you guys have less than 20 minutes though before the antidote wares off", he said.
the pain had significantly reduced so the moving was a lot easier for me, Lois drove like she normally did fast and aggressive, to beat the limited time I had.
We got to the place, a huge warehouse seemingly deserted, with the front part of it severely burnt; and the created by the burn covered with planks of woods and blocks appearing natural, but I could tell they were done by hand, "these blockade was done by hand", Lois spoke my mind, "but are you sure we are not at the wrong place?", I questioned , "it is!, you don't expect such a person to be out in the open", Lois replied as she walked towards the chained door of the ware house, "how do we get in?", I questioned looking around, "I am not sure", Lois replied looking around as well, "ahh!", I grunted in pain as my back began to hurt yet again; a pain worse than the previous, "Rich!", she yelled as she rushed to where i was, "help!! help!!!!!", she called out as the pain continued to increase, "Liang!!!", Lois shouted, "Liang!!!!!", she shouted louder confused, and seemingly out of options.
She continued shouting and out of the warehouse's wall a slim looking chinese guy ran out, as we both watched surprised.
He rushed up to where we were with a syringe in his hand, I and Lois speechlessly watched as he put it in my skin and in less than a minute the pain disappeared, "what was that!", I asked surprised, "virus neutralizer 3.0", he replied as he looked at the empty syringe, "that would be a thousand bucks, "what!", Lois exclaimed, "yeah, the neutralizer will last him for an hour before the pain crawls back, and that would take an additional 30 minutes, unlike the one you were on when you got here", he explained, "that's too expensive", Lois said irritated, he laughed and looked at me, "I like your face, I'll try and make it to your funeral, to see how it looks in your casket, when your last moments were of agonizing pain", he said and was about to walk away, "you think this is funny!", Lois said furiously, "well, you are the one that started with the jokes", he replied, "I have a really bad temper!", Lois said as she walked closer to him, "I on the other hand don't; but these guys do", he said as he waved his right hand in the air and then down, and two loin like dogs came out from a damaged car parked outside, " you still angry miss?", he asked smiling as Lois looked at him still p_ssed but couldn't make a move, "that's what I thought", he said as he close his hand making a fist, the once angry dogs soon became calm, "there's no need to resolve to any of that, I'll pay", I said to him as I walked closer to where he was, the dogs growled as I got closer to their master, he looked me in the eyes and i did the same, we remained in that position for almost 20 seconds; " I'll really love to attend your funeral", he said as he smiled, "don't say that again, and maybe, just maybe, you might live long enough to attend my next birthday!", I said and he began to laugh, "I like you.....lets go in", he replied.
We got into the warehouse and so many canisters; of different colors shapes and sizes, "can you tell us more about your virus", Lois asked, "inquisitive and fearless; you wouldn't live long!", he said as he looked at Lois, "....those were the words my father said to me on repeat!; but he's dead now and I am still alive, who's the fool now dad!!!", he yelled at thin air.
"The virus?", Lois uttered, "oh yeah that; the virus was a project given to me by the DDA, I believe the ones who inflicted this on you, cause apart from the DDA only a hand full of people who are not of the DDA have requested for this virus, and I gave a few who had a good reason and quality money, and you don't look like people anyone would like to waste money on", he said as we walked.
We walked with him and finally stopped at the burnt part of the warehouse, "what happened here?", I questioned, "the DDA", he replied, "I thought you were friends with the DDA?", Lois asked, "same here, till they did this to me", he added, "but why?", she asked sympathetically, "they came to me looking for lots of supply of my virus, with use of a blood sample, whose owner they didn't tell me; but I did a little digging myself and discovered it was an offspring of Michael", he explained, "Michael has a child?", I asked, "I was surprised as well", he replied, "anyways he does and his child is the antidote to millions of peoples virus as it stands now", he replied, "so why destroy your work", I asked "they didn't want me to come up with the cure, "if they didn't want that, they should have blown up the entire place, with you in it, why spare you", I asked, "Mrs Yuvatzki was in charge that mission", he replied,
"after I had made to virus she took me to this section of my warehouse , and told me that the DDA's intentions were to kill me, and she doesn't want that, so if I can make a virus that can make those with her forget what really transpired here, she would help me slip it in their drinks; so I asked what was in for her, cause I knew hell's queen of punishment won't do such a thing for me for free, there had to be a catch, and then she rasied her hand signalling to them to do something; and in less than 5minutes they brought a woman and she told that the woman was pregnant, and that the blood she wanted me to use for the virus was the woman's child", he explained, "what!?", Lois exclaimed, "yeah, I for one didn't want to do it, but considering what was on the line I had to. After doing it, I was reluctant to give her the virus's canister, and then she told me that she needs me alive to heal the person she was going to inflict with it; it was shocking to me because my study of the DDA made me understand that Mrs Yuvatzki is one of the most ruthless persons in the DDA, for her to do such the person must be really somebody", he explained and his explanation drove me to start thinking.
Is that really how much Diana loves me, so much so she could drop her pride and disobey the DDA.
"you are stalling!", Lois said as she looked at him with fury in her eyes, "stalling, stalling for what?", he asked, "you've used almost 30minutes to tell us a story, one which some details weren't necessary", Lois added, "you really are smart, smart and beautiful its quite hard to find your kind in this unfortunate environment; yes Anna am referring to you!!!", he yelled , "why!?", she asked holding him by his collar, "easy now", he said as the dogs barked and charged to where we were.
They stopped on seeing Lois let go of his collar, "I did it only that because once the antidote wares off you would need to buy another, and so would have to pay for the one he is currently on, and not for any other reason, "but for your intelligence's sake, I am going to give you a free one; that is the one you are currently on", he said as he walked to another part of the warehouse, "lay there!", he commanded, and I obeyed, "let's check who did this to you", Liang said as laid there, and brought out a syringe, "where do you keep these", Lois asked as Liang injected and extracted blood from my skin, .
"What..the...f_ck!", he exclaimed, "so you are the bastard!", he added, "it's Baztad", I replied, "you are the reason Mrs Yuvatzki spared my life", he added, "so Diana truly is behind this", Lois added, "what do we do now?", I asked, "simple, go meet Mrs Yuvatzki and apologize, hopefully she'll give you the woman from whom we can extract the blood from the child; I normally would take 10 thousand bucks for that but since you were the reason my life was spared, I'll take just 9500 usd, wired or transferred", he explained, "you must be!.....", Lois said and was interrupted by my phone's ringing.
"Rich!, they found another dead body, beside a Chinese restaurant's dump", she explained, "and am still on the research so I can't go to the crime scene, so I need you and Lois there!", she added, "but its late!", I exclaimed as Lois looked at me with a weird expression on her face, trying to pick out what am discussing over the phone, "come on Rich, we have to do this before Fernando covers his tracks!", she explained, "isn't Fernando doing same research as you", I added, "that's true!", she added, "never the less I think you guys should still go check it out; i got to go", she said and ended the call, "Rachael?", Lois asked to clear any doubts, "yeah", I replied, "what's wrong?", she questioned, "another person was found dead by a Chinese restaurant", I explained, "what!!", Lois exclaimed aloud , "why Chinese!?", Liang asked. Almost immediately Liang's phone began to ring, "Only one person, has this contact", he said as he brought out his phone , "what's up! Barry?", he said, "two DDA personnels are on their way to your warehouse!", Barry replied aloud, so loud I could hear him talk, plus Liang's phone was quite loud, "thanks for the heads up Barry, you really are a good friend", he replied sarcastically, "you are welcome man; more importantly Russia just declared war against the DDA!", Barry added, "tell me you are joking!?", Liang said smiling, "am serious man, a DDA missile was launched to a Russian market, killing thousands of people", he added, "woh, that's a big one, DDA versus Russia", Liang added, "the DDA would never do such without a reason!", I added, "unless it wasn't the DDA", Lois added.
