As they all returned to the banquet, Mrs. Bromwick held Nora by her hand, and took her up stage.
In an intimate manner she looked at her, "I sincerely apologize for just now, I was the one at fault. It's all thanks to Nora that we got the contract, she's infact an outstanding member of the Bromwick family. For her efforts yeilded the collaboration between the Bromwick family and the Axel Group. She truly did alot", Mrs. Bromwick commended.
As she spoke, Stella stood beside her, staring at her in a disdainful manner. Stella immediately waved at her signalling to her to stop talking, "I would like make some corrections to that. In this collaboration, Miss Nora Bromwick single handedly made great efforts, and all this was possible because of her and her alone, none other helped her", she explained.
What Stella did was extremely rude, but they were all used to it. Due to how high Stella Yong was in status compared to Mrs. Bromwick, even if she raised a hand to slap Mrs. Bromwick publicly, Mrs. Bromwick can't utter a word.
On hearing this, Mrs. Bromwick quickly nodded in agreement, "Vice-chairman, Miss Yong is correct. For all that has happened, we owe it all to Nora. And henceforth, she would be director of the Bromwick Group, and shall take full responsibility of the collaboration between the Axel Group and the Bromwick Group", Mrs. Bromwick said.
On hearing this, Stella simply smiled and shook Nora's hand, "I hope we can have a happy collaboration in the future", she added smiling.
Nora was still very lost inside, and all she could do was nod her head in bewilderment.
On hearing this, the audience blew up with their applause as they all stared at Nora.
This woman on stage, is treated seriously by the Axel Group.
Nora was in a severe state of bewilderment, she turned to Chris. For just as he had said, so was the situation. Grandma, Mrs. Bromwick, had rightfully returned the position of directorship to her.
Up till the end of the banquet, Nora was still amazed even after returning home.
She remembered all that Chris had said earlier, and it further increase her confusion. For last few days, Chris has been displaying a level of change.
It seemed like he wasn't a different man entirely, and almost like a part of him was being covered by a layer of mist.
The banquet night annouced Nora all over the Hillsprings, she was now famous.
Everyone now knows that, there's someone in the Bromwick family of such outstanding capability, having the Axel Group's support.
It appears that with her, the bringing up of the Bromwick family was not far.
Early the next morning, Nora was up. She quickly found her way to the company.
Today marks her first day as the company director. She hoped to do her best to make things work out fine.
When Chris arose, he resumed his housework as he had always done.
When he was done with his work, he got himself prepared to go out to the market to get some vegetables for lunch.
Suddenly, a call came from his mother-in-law Sarah.
He quickly answered the call, her extremely anxious voice resonated from the other end of the phone, "Hey Chris, in 10 minutes, I want you at Safeway road, if you are not there in 10minutes, I won't spare you when I get home", she said anxiously.
After speaking, she ended the call.
Chris was quite confused. Sarah didn't mention anything before leaving in the morning. Why now? Why sound so urgent?
Although Chris was very annoyed with his mother-in-law, he dared not disobey her. He quickly cleaned up and boarded a cab to Safeway Road.
On getting there, he saw a bunch of old men and women standing at the door of a closed insurance company, thy seemed pretty angry.
And in the forefront of this bunch, holding up a banner in her hand and shouting was his mother-in-law, Sarah.
"Useless Harley, scandalous platform, we know our rights, pay me what I worked for!", Sarah yelled.
Chris quickly rushed to where she was, tapped, "Mom, you requested for me, what's going on?", He asked.
As he spoke, the insultive remarks said by the old people on repeat sounded in his ears, as well as those of the passerby’s.
Sarah dragged Chris to herself, and told him to take her place, "Come on now, shout out the slogan for me, my throat's gotten soar, I have been yelling since morning", she commanded.
