I turned around slowly to see who it was.
It was the almost flat chested blonde from the bread chop, Mabel.
I stared at her waiting for her to say something. She just stood there frozen.
"Can I help you?", I asked.
"Umm.... Uh!", She stammered.
"Did Merylin tell you anything?", She asked.
"Merylin's told me a lot of things...", I replied sounding like one in a hurry to leave knowing fully well that she was too shy to go straight to the point and so might just remain quiet. But if she does go to the point, she just might put me up for a conversation I really do not want to have especially now.
She stared at me still not saying a word.
"I really have to go...", I said as I walked towards the mall's doorway.
"Wait!", She said abruptly to my surprise.
"Did she tell you anything about me?!", She asked.
I turned back and replied immediately: "No"
After speaking, I walked inside the mall without looking back.

MERYLIN'S POV:
I and mom drove until we got to where the ambulance was.
We came down and ran towards the ambulance.
"Where's the patient?", Mom asked as she tried to see who was carried in the stretcher.
"Madam, who are you?", One of the male nurses asked.
"I am his mother!", She replied.
"Madam, I am afraid that's impossible...", He replied seemingly in a hurry.
"No trust me, we may not look alike, but infact we are really related!", Mom added.
"Madam, this haa nothing to do with looks, I am certainly this person is not your son.", The man replied.
"Forgive my mom sir, she likes to think of him as her legitimate child but the thing is, he is adopted.,", I interjected.
"Oh God!", The man said irritated.
"We really have to go! Madam, trust me, the man in the truck is not your son!", He said as he was walked in.
"Can I atleast see him?", Mom added.
"Come in!", he said fed up after getting into the van.
"Let's go in!", Mom urged me and I followed.
Even before we got in the ambulance was set in motion.
"Who are they?", A guy on a black hood said looking at us with his tearful eyes.
"She claims she's his mom!", The nurse replied.
"His what?! Marloy's mom's dead!", The man said looking at mom with an arrogant expression.
As soon as I heard the name Marloy, I knew we had threaded the wrong path.
"Who are you people?!", He asked arrogantly, standing aggressively.
On seeing this, mom stepped back.
"I was looking for my son…", she replied apologetically.
"Your son's not here!", He said and sat back down putting his hand on his face and looking down.
Almost like a mentally deranged person.
"Can we go down?!", Mom asked the nurse.
"I am sorry ma'am, we have to get to the hospital, this man's condition is too critical to allow stops", he explained.
"F_ck!", I muttered.
This is just going to slim down even the tiniest bit of chance we had left of finding Caleb.
Abruptly, the arrogant man spoke.
"Can you describe your son?"
Mom and I were stunned at his sudden speech.
"Madam can you please describe your son?!", He asked again, this time standing up and appearing like a lunatic once again.
Mom at the time was close to the door.
"He's... He's.. I don't know what to say!", Mom said confused and seemingly tensed.
"How the heck? You can't describe your own son?!", He asked seemingly getting pissed.
Seeing this, I had to intervene. "He's tall and has a brown hair!", I said immediately.
"Pale skinned? Blue eyes?", He added as he walked closer.
On hearing this, it struck me that this guy had definitely seen Caleb.
"Answer me!", He said holding my shoulders.
"Yes, please leave my daughter!", Mom screamed as she pulled him.
He arrogantly pushed her on the floor and then brought out a knife.
"God has brought has brought you to me, he's has given me a chance to avenge my brother!", He said.
"Don't you dare call no one!", He added looking at the nurses who seemed to be panicking.
"You will all take Marloy here for treatment and go safely. But these women, they stay here!", He added.
At this point, I realized we were in another big trouble cause of Caleb. I haven't even closed my eyes since the last one.
"Ahh!", Mom said looking at her bleeding elbow as a result of her falling.
"Mom!", I said and ran towards her.
"I wonder what I'll do to you guys to hurt that monster!", He added looking at I and mom who were on the floor.
Bang!
One of the nurses hit his back with a fire extinguisher.
And the van was in a pandemonium.
But it wasn't long before we saw blood.
The nurse dropped dead as he pulled the knife out of his neck.
"That goes for anyone of you who tries to act smart. You think cause I am with just a knife I can't do much; think again!", He said stabbing the lifeless guy on the floor and swiftly pulling the knife out.
All who saw this shivered in fear.
Just then, the car came to a stop.
"Get him out!", He said pointing at the body on stretcher.
The nurses quickly rolled out the stretcher.
"Make sure he's treated!", He added as he followed them down.
"Not you ladies", he said he to us who were in the van and shut the door leaving just I, mom and the dead nurse in the van.
"What are you doing?!", We heard someone ask aloud near the front of the ambulance.
"What does it look like I am doing!", He said as we heard the car start.
"Hey!!!", The man who previously spoke yelled as the car began to move.
"Why is he doing this?!", Mom asked as she began to cry.
I knew the answer to the question, but said nothing as I wondered who was going to save us now that Caleb's gone.
