Clark didn't catch William's meaning, but at this point, they had to take a gamble.
"Knock, knock!"
At this time, Again there was a knock on the door from outside, followed by an attendant
who was reporting, "Your Highness, Mr. Silas is here."
"Please come in." William and Clark glanced at each other.
The attendant pushed open the door and invited Silas in.
Silas bowed to William and then said bluntly, "Your Highness, His Majesty has asked
me to come and fetch you and Dr. Feroma to the palace."
Hearing this, Clark's face changed greatly, but William was calm and said with a smile,
"That's fine with me, His Majesty can summon me anytime, but with Derila, I have
to speak to her first."
As William was speaking, Derila pushed in the door, dressed in a Whyte lab coat
and carrying a medical kit in her hand.
Seeing Silas, Derila was slightly stunned, and then looked at William.
"Derila, let me introduce to you." William immediately introduced the two to each
other, and then said, "Derila, His Majesty has asked Silas to come and pick us up
from the palace."
"Isn't he coming over tomorrow?" Derila asked directly, "What are we doing over
there now?"
"Dr. Feroma." William was about to explain when the Silas stepped forward and said
politely, "His Majesty has learnt of your great medical skills and admires you so much
that he would like to invite you to the palace as a guest, so I hope you will be gracious
enough to do so."
As the old king's personal attendant, to be so polite to Derila was already giving
him face.
Unfortunately, Derila did not eat this: "I don't like to be a guest, if Your Majesty has
anything to ask, you can just come here and ask."
"Derila…"
"Dr. Feroma." This time, the Silas's tone increased a little, "You are young and may not
understand yet, His Majesty the King has specially invited you and even asked me to
personally come and pick you up, this sincerity is truly unprecedented, please don't
make things difficult for His Highness and me."
"Why is it difficult?" Derila asked in confusion, "I am here to heal the sick and save
people, and I have not broken any laws, why does the king have to see me? Why does
it become a problem if I don't go?"
Silas: "Dr. Feroma…"
"Lord Silas." Silas was about to say something else when William interrupted him,
"Derila is my good friend and my life-saver. She has never liked to be tied down or
to deal with politics, since she doesn't want to go to the palace, let's not make things
difficult for her, on Grandfather's side, I will take care of it."
"Your Highness…" The Silas was about to say something else when William bent down
and bowed to him, "I beg of you."
Seeing him like this, Silas did not dare to force himself any further, but simply sighed
deeply, "Alright, then I will wait for you outside."
With that, Silas went out.
Derila was already in a bad mood today and was even more annoyed by such a
fuss, but seeing William's humble appearance, she felt bad in her heart and said softly,
"William, I'm sorry, I don't want to make things difficult for you, but I want to go to the
palace too."
"If you don't want to go, then don't go, this matter has nothing to do with you in the first
place." William was ever so gentle when facing Derila, "I'm already sorry for
involving you in this, if there's anything, I'll deal with it myself, I don't want to drag you
down."
"But, will you be able to give a good account of yourself when you go to the palace?"
Derila was a little worried about him.
"It's fine, I'll deal with it." William patted her arm, "Well, we can't keep the Silas waiting,
I'll go first, you shouldn't be too tired today, go and rest after checking with Clark."
"Mhm." Derila nodded and watched William leave.
"Ugh." Clark sighed sadly, "I thought I would be able to fight back successfully this time,
but now it looks like it's all about to be over."
"What's over?" Derila asked, puzzled.
"It's all my fault, my fault." Clark blamed himself greatly, "I shouldn't have gone to the
palace to complain to His Majesty, I shouldn't have revealed your identity, and I
shouldn't have involved you and Mr. Lierger."
