Mr. Vixus just drove in, Merylin must be at the door waiting for him to come in, so she can break the news to him.
Considering how terrified he would be having received such a call from his wife, It will take him about 30seconds to get to the door, and another for Merylin to break the news to him; and a final 30 to get up the stairs, leaving me an escape time of 1minute 30seconds.
The height from my room to the floor is roughly 10-12feets, jumping down shouldn't kill me, but slow me down reasonably, potentially reduce my efficiency and increase the chance of apprehension.
Using a rope or the bed sheets will leave an outstanding trace and might destroy the sheet or something. I really don't want to cause the Vixus harm in anyway, they've been really good to me.
Merylin should explain my reason for leaving very well, they definitely will understand and considering how secret I am supposed to be kept, they wouldn't use the police to look for me.
I quickly walked towards the window pulling with myself only a jacket for cold nights and an umbrella for rain and and as a simple weapon.
I pulled it up and jumped out.
MERYLIN'S POV:
"Dad's home!", I yelled as I ran towards the door, opening to break the news to him before Caleb leaves.
"Merylin!", He called as he too rushed towards the door.
"Dad, Caleb's leaving!", I said immediately.
"What?!", Mom whom I had still not told exclaimed first.
I glared at her sternly, watching her. Aren't you happy that he is leaving, now acting like you care.
I turned to dad who was already making his way to the door and added: "He just told me he was leaving!"
"Where's he?", He asked as he opened the door and rushed towards the staircase.
"He should be in his room!", I added as I and mom ran behind him until we got to his room.
"Caleb!", Dad called as he knocked.
"Caleb it's me, may I come in?!", He asked knocking alot more forcefully.
"Caleb, please don't go, I am sorry if we offended you!", Mom said.
I couldn't help but get annoyed by her words. I just can't help but feel it's not sincere.
"I am coming in!", He said and opened the door.
We all rushed in looking left and right like burglars.
"Turn on the lights!", Dad commander as he continued looking around.
The room was lit and everything in it was seen clearly, the bed perfectly arranged, the books well stacked in the shelf beside the bed; his wardrobe well organized. It seemed as though no one ever lived in it.
"Honey, the window!", Mom said as she pointed at the window.
We quickly ran there and realized it was wide open.
"Did he jump?!", Dad asked looking down in a terrified manner.
"He has no where else to go!", Mom said with her arms spread open as she turned around gesturing that he wasn't in the room.
"Quickly, let's go out, he mustn't have gotten far!", Dad said aloud as he rushed out.
Mom followed, but I remained in the room looking out the window.
They don't know Caleb like I do, as long as he was able to make it out the house, he's gone, and gone for good if he wishes.
Thinking of this I couldn't help the streams of tears that made their way out my eyes. He is and has always been all alone, what if I was the one that position? Wouldn't I need someone around who I can atleast confide in?
"Merylin!", Dad called.
"Coming dad!", I yelled and ran out of Caleb's room.
When I got down, I saw the door open, mom and dad were already outside.
I went out as well and found them each in their cars, "Merylin, go with you mom! We would increase the chances of finding him if we split up!"
Dad said from inside his car as he reved his engine.
Even though I knew how pointless this was, I still had go with them.
CALEB'S POV:
From the top of the roof were I stayed, I watched the Vixus's drive away; only Merylin knew how lost I really was.
To be continued.....
