The Fallout
"I wonder what happened to Nella." Freda was curious. "Wasn't she with Boris? Did she discover something and regret it after that?"
Carla turned silent for a while and then sighed. "She must be desperate about getting sold by her father."
Freda let out a deep sigh too.
"All right. Please accompany Benard. And don't forget about the prescription." Carla reminded with a low voice. "I'll go check on Josh."
"Okay."
Carla went back to her room and took a shower. After getting changed, she went to the first floor to see Josh.
Josh was on a drip, and Naya was treating his wounds.
Venus hugged her Whyte stuffed alpaca, standing in a corner and staring at Josh. Her eyes were brimmed with tears.
She used her hand to cover her mouth, worrying that her crying sound might disturb Josh.
"Venus!" Carla hugged Venus tightly and comforted her. "Don't be afraid. Josh will be fine."
"Mommy…" Venus jumped into Carla's embrace. Her tears could not stop flowing. "What about Randy? Will he be back?"
"Of course. Uncle Charles will bring him back soon." Carla wiped the tears off Venus's face. "Our family will be united soon."
"Okay!" Venus nodded despite still crying profusely.
Carla let Ilali take Venus outside. Then, she walked toward the bed and whispered to Naya, "How is he doing?"
"His wounds are not serious, but the severe cold has caused pneumonia." Naya frowned. "Fortunately, he has been practicing martial arts, and he is strong. Otherwise, it will be more serious…"
Naya paused for a while and changed the topic. "The medical equipment here is enough. I will bring some medicine here later."
However, Carla lost her calm after hearing those words. Josh has the best health among the three kids because he knows martial arts. But Randy…
They should be treated the same way after getting kidnapped. Now that Josh is already so seriously ill, Randy will definitely be worse…
"Ms. Lierger, please calm down." Naya noticed Carla's concerns. "I've just received a call from Brandy. He got out with a few men, and he is no longer under the control of those people. He's heading toward Charles right now and will help him find Randy."
"That's great." Rogan immediately chimed in. "Charles has been working non-stop for over a week now, so he must be exhausted and he couldn't do much alone too. However, the trail won't go cold with Brandy's help."
"Brandy brought along Mr. Giblo's Elite Eighteen with him. That will be a great help, " Naya uttered. "But Boris will be more impudent if they are not around."
"The most important thing now is to rescue Randy." Carla hesitated and got confused. "But, how did Brandy escape and even bring eighteen men with him?"
"I'm not sure about that." Naya felt strange too. "I was shocked when I received the call just now. He even told me that we didn't need to listen to that imposter anymore!"
"Does he intend to fall out with them?" Rogan was shocked.
"That's right! We're going after them directly!"
Just then, a voice rang out. Bugara walked in, carrying a crutch.
"Bugara, why are you here?" Rogan immediately walked over to support him.
Bugara patted Rogan's hand while turning toward Carla. "Ms. Lierger, my legs have improved a lot. I want to go and meet Brandy."
"No way. Your injury has not yet recovered, " Rogan immediately responded.
"It's almost there. Even if I can't fight, I still can drive. It's the left leg anyway, " Bugara said impatiently. "I've been lying down for so long, so I need to do something."
