A Smart Person
"Um…" Carla was stunned momentarily. She signaled Freda to close the door.
Freda went to close the door and guarded by it.
"Dr. Solova, why did you say that?" Only then did Carla start to talk to Ellen.
"Even though I am confident with my skill, I am aware of my level." Ellen displayed a bitter smile. "Benard has been sick for so long, and he has also gone through surgery. But there had been no improvement. Why did he improve these few days suddenly? And for Alpha, I have been out of solutions due to lacking medical equipment. But she also recovered after two nights. It was hardly a coincidence that the two of them improved simultaneously. Some genius doctor must have been involved."
"This…" Carla did not want Ellen to know about Derilo, but she knew anyone would have noticed something was peculiar.
Hesitating for a while, she uttered, "Actually, that's not important. Daemon invited you here to cure Alpha. Now that Alpha has recovered, your mission is accomplished!"
"How did you know Daemon invited me?'
Ellen was startled as she had never revealed anything about it.
"Who else would be able to invite you if it wasn't him?" Carla smiled. "After all, the two families had given the ultimatum. No one dared to get involved. You wouldn't dare to come here without Daemon's protection."
"Indeed." Ellen sighed silently. "Not to mention the expensive medical fee, it was indeed dangerous. But with Mr. Lierger at my back, I don't have to be afraid of those people."
"That's right." Carla heaved a sigh of relief. "Since Daemon was the one who sent you, you need to do your job. I will explain to him about everything else."
"Was it Derilo?" Ellen suddenly asked.
Carla was dumbstruck by that. She did not expect Ellen to know about that.
"It looks like it then." Ellen was overwhelmed with excitement. "Let me be frank with you. Money is not important to me. The reason that I accepted this case was not only because of Mr. Lierger. Most importantly, I wanted to meet the legendary Dr. Derilo."
"This…"
"You don't have to worry. I won't say anything to anyone, including Mr. Lierger, " Ellen uttered enthusiastically. "If he makes me go back to M Nation earlier, I will miss the chance to meet Dr. Derilo."
"That's good to know."
Carla could finally relax. She knew Ellen was a straightforward person as she was not into fame and wealth but knowledge. Most importantly, she did not like to cheat or scheme. Hence, Carla knew the latter was speaking the truth.
"Then…" Before Ellen could speak, her phone rang. Her face paled in fright after answering the call. "What? I'll be right there."
Hanging up the phone, Ellen told Carla, "Ms. Lierger, I need to take a leave."
"Why?" Carla questioned.
"My good friend, Ms. Gold, got into trouble. I need to get over there right away." Ellen panicked. "Don't worry. I am aware of your relationship with the Gold family. I promise I won't reveal anything."
"They don't know that you are helping us, do they?" Carla asked with concerns.
"No." Ellen shook her head. "Of course, they don't. I will be in trouble too if this gets out. Don't worry. I know what to do."
"Then please go there now." Carla furrowed her brows. "Ms. Gold needs you now."
"Okay." Ellen nodded and went to pack her stuff.
Carla asked her men to escort Ellen down the mountain. She even gave Ellen a car with a clean license plate.
Freda was worried. "Will Dr. Solova reveal anything?"
"Nope. She is a smart person." Carla sounded confident.
