Benard walked to a corner and gave Carla a call. He could not help but feel anxious. Dr. Feroma is now hanging by a thread. Does this mean we'd be losing our last hope soon?
Carla did not pick up the phone, as she was playing with the children in the courtyard.
Benard then immediately contacted Bugara. After getting to know that Dr. Feroma was about to give up the ghost, Bugara immediately ran to Carla and passed her the phone.
Carla, who was playing with a bubble gun with the children, planned to depart after this, but after answering talking to Benard over the phone, she dropped the bubble gun and instructed her bodyguards, "Quick. Get the car ready."
"Right away!"
Rogan and Freda did not even have the time to help the children change into fresh clothes. After stuffing all the six children and their clothes into their respective seats, they hit the road immediately.
Throughout the journey, Carla kept blaming herself. "It's my fault. I should have left early. I should have brought the kids over to visit him yesterday…"
"What happened to Dr. Feroma? He was still pretty energetic yesterday, wasn't he?" Freda felt sorry for Carla upon seeing how worried she was.
"What's wrong with Dr. Feroma?" Even the children felt something was amiss.
"Dr. Feroma is very ill, and he wants to see you, " Carla regained her composure and explained. "I need all of you to stay quiet when you meet him later, okay?"
"Okay…" The children nodded despite not knowing what was going on.
"Good." Carla, who grew increasingly despondent, embraced the children.
"Freda, who called Mr. Bugara just now?" Randy asked all of a sudden.
At that time, Bugara was driving the extended Rolls-Royce.
Freda, who sat next to Carla, answered, "Benard called."
"Does that mean Daddy and Mr. Benard are both at Dr. Feroma's?" A line formed between Randy's brows, and his eyes sparkled.
"I guess so." Freda did not think much before answering Randy. "They must have visited Dr. Feroma because they knew you're going to be there."
"Did you visit Dr. Feroma with Daddy last night?" Randy asked.
"Yes. We went together." Freda nodded.
"And you left together?" Randy asked again.
"Your Daddy left first." Freda could feel Randy had some doubts on his mind. "What's wrong with you, Randy?"
"Nothing." Randy shook his head and looked dispirited. "I just asked for fun."
"Oh." Freda did not pursue the matter any further.
Carla did not hear what Randy and Freda said as she was busy reminding the other children not to disturb Dr. Feroma when they arrived.
Their car continued to speed on the highway.
Meanwhile, Benard had called Naya and a few other specialists over. He wanted them to conduct a thorough check-up for Dr. Feroma.
Dr. Feroma waved his hand in the air in a sickly manner. Upon interpreting his intention, Sam choked on his words and said, "Dr. Feroma said that won't be necessary, but thank you."
Naya, who felt a little uneasy, then looked at Zayn.
Zayn instructed, "Wait outside."
"All right." Naya had no choice but to retreat from the room with the medical team and wait in the courtyard alongside Brandy.
Dr. Feroma, who could hardly move from the bed, kept staring at the door, hoping he could meet Carla and the children for one last time.
"Shall we go out for a walk to get some morning sun?" Zayn whispered his suggestion to his ear. "They should arrive soon."
Dr. Feroma responded with a weak nod.
When Hapilia and Sam were about to help Dr. Feroma get up from the bed, Zayn went up and carried him instead. "Bring his wheelchair over."
"Okay."
