Nora left the Bromwick Group's building excited.
Mrs. Bromwick will officially announce her new position as the director the next day. Finally she could be hold her head up high!
She happily turned to Chris, "Chris, thanks alot, if it weren't for your encouragement, I dare not have stood up to the challenge!", She said to Chris.
Chris smiled, "you deserve it dear", he added.
She smiled back, and he nodded, "it really is a happy event, one which calls for celebration. Let's celebrate, shall we?", Chris asked and Nora agreed with a nod.
"Our third anniversary is also not far off, we'll Just celebrate it together! Allow me make the preparations for everything, you just sit back and rest", Chris Said to her.
In surprise, Nora gaped, "do you want to surprise me?", She asked.
"Yeah!", Chris replied nodding and laughing, "I want to surprise you", he added.
A dash of warmth was felt surging Nora's heart when she heard this, "Okay then, I'll try not ask for any detail", Nora added.
"You don't need to, just be patient!", Chris said.
Chris had conceived several plans, preparing for an exclusive and special anniversary.
In all, Chris's Maine objective was compensation. Before now, he has no money to buy gifts for his wife. In fact, back then, he was
unable to afford a formal wedding for her. Now that he has the money,he wanted to earnestly compensate her.
When he left her, he went to a jewelry store known as Emerald court. It was located at the center of the Hillsprings.
Emerald court was really popular in the Hillsprings, infact the most popular jewelery store in it.
They had all sorts of gemstones, gold, Platinum, diamond jade and accessories one may not have though existed. What ever you could think to find, they had it.
Before booking a venue for their belated wedding in the best hotel in the Hillsprings, Chris wanted to get a gift for his wife.
He walked into the store. On seeing him, and sizing what he wore, four-striped—a.k.a. counterfeit—Adidas sneakers, the sales personnel didn't bother to entertain him.
Not caring, Chris looked around the store by himself, and after a while of searching, he found a jade necklace locked in a cabinet made of glass.
With selective icy jadeite, the necklace was made. It was a deluxe and exquisite necklace, just perfect for his wife.
He took a look at the price tag in it, '13 million dollars', a piece of cake for him.
"Excuse me!", He called out to one of the sales personnel, "hi, can you please take this necklace out, so I can have a closer look", he said.
The sales personnel glanced at him indifferently, "I don't have the key, it's with our manager", the sales personnel muttered and spoke through the intercom, "Miss Wolfe, a guy out here wants to have a closer look at our most prized possession!", he added.
In no time, an enchanting woman, heavily made-up, sped to the storefront enthusiastically. Jane Wolfe was her name, and she was the stores sales manager.
"Who is the prestigious guest that wants to take a look at our most prized possession?", She asked.
The personnel immediately pointed a finger at Chris, "that man over there!", he said.
"Uh?", Jane uttered as she turned to Chris. On seeing him, she couldn't hide her disgust; her expression was like one who had just eaten a fly.
How can such a wretched deadbeat afford our most prized possession?
She turned to the personnel that called her, "You are kidding right?", She asked as her excitement fell down the hill.
"No ma'am, the young man really wants to see the necklace", he added.
Jane rudely chided, "Are you blind? What makes you think this loser can afford such an expensive necklace? If you can't see, let me know so I fire you right away, so you stop annoying me!", She said obviously getting irritated.
Jane's arms were crossed in front of her chest, as she stood with her head up high, looking pompous and snobbish.
There were not many shoppers in the store at the time. When they heard jade necklace's price, they gaped in awe, pointing at Chris, and whispering amongst themselves, "that guy is so shameless! Why look at what you can't afford?", "Did he look at the mirror before leaving the house? Does he really think such a beautiful necklace will go with his low quality outfit?", "You see, they are so many of them these days!", they gossiped.
Chris looked at Jane suspiciously as she looked back at him scornfully. He choose to teach the ignorant b_tch a lesson she won't forget!
He immediately brought out his phone and dialed Griffin's number.
"I want 13 million dollars in cash, delivered to the Emerald court within 10 minutes!", Chris demanded.
"Okay young master, I am on it!", Griffin sad from over the phone.
On hearing this, Jane's lips twitched as she teased, "Wow, what an amazing act, I'm really impressed! 13 million dollars cash? Oh please, don't make me laugh! I myself haven't seen that much cash in my life, I really hope you'll help my eyes see such toda! Or don't you know you have to have to have made an appointment with the bank before a withdrawal above a million dollars? You are such a clown!", She said and laughed some more.
Chris nodded without any visible expression, "You haven't seen such, you say? You'll see it real soon", Chris said.
The voices soon started resonating across the store.
"Being poor is okay, but just don't be puffed up!", "Hahaha, this guy doesn't look like a rich guy at all! 13 million? Please.... If he can get 13 million dollars, I'll call him dad!", "I am really curious to see how 13 million dollars in cash looks like!", The gossips went on.
On hearing how the crowd took her side, Jane smiled in satisfaction. She just couldn't wait to see how this wretched deadbeat would react when the cash doesn't show, what sort of act will he put up?
Few minutes later, several cars, all Rolls-Royce, were parked in front of the Emerald court.
Immediately after, 8 able bodied guards, all in black suit came down from the two cars in front.
They were each carrying a black leather suitcase, all having twitching muscles, solemn expression, and an aura, purely cold and murderous emitted from their body. It was like the temperature suddenly dropped to 0.
On seeing this all in the store was shocked.
Who is this guy? What's with this overwhelming appearance?
