Zayn decided to tell Jamal not only because he trusted him, but he was worried that the treatment might not work as well.
Humans are often sensitive towards their physical condition. Even though I'm very optimistic, I can't help but think I might not wake up if I fall asleep one day.
And if that day comes, I hope the Giblo Group wouldn't be in chaos again. Hence, I have to take all necessary precautions!
Once everything at the Giblo Group was settled, Zayn began his treatment.
Naya cleared the entire medical building and brought in medical equipment in preparation for Zayn's treatment. Similarly, Naya arranged for the medical team from Erihal to stay at Southridge.
Mrs. Bolistin transferred most of the younger maids to Thompson while experienced ones were stationed at the medical building.
The reason behind the change in was staffing was to ensure that Zayn was taken good care of as well as to prevent the news from going public.
Thompson took Josh back to Jombo's Garden Villa to stay for the meantime. Thompson also allowed Josh to go back to school.
Similarly, Josh was under Bugara and two other medical staff staffs' care when Zayn was away for treatment.
The night before Josh left, he ran up to Zayn and asked, "Daddy, why are you sending Mr. Thompson and I away to the Garden Villa? Do you not want me anymore?"
"Of course not, silly. You're my son, why would I abandon you?" Zayn rubbed his head and smiled. "I'm sick and need to be treated. Hence, I've decided that you should stay with Mr. Thompson as I can't take care of you now."
"What's wrong, Daddy? Are you having a cold or something?" Josh asked anxiously.
"It's hard to explain…" Zayn paused. "Daddy's illness is a little tricky and requires some time before I get better. If everything goes well, I'll be as healthy as a horse in a couple of months. Then, we can travel to Erihal to get Mommy, Randy, and Venus."
"What?" Josh widened his eyes in horror. "Daddy, did you just say that you might die?"
"Yup." Zayn nodded. "I might!"
"No! I don't want Daddy to die!"
Josh clung onto Zayn's neck and cried out loud.
The room was instantly filled with the sound of cries as everyone was saddened by the scene.
Even Brandy and Benard lowered their head sadly while Mrs. Bolistin wiped a tear that escaped from the corners of her eyes.
Thompson wanted to comfort Josh, but his voice was no match to Josh's loud cry.
Zayn didn't stop Josh, instead, he let him cry until he was tired and his voice became hoarse. Then, he gently pulled away from him and wiped his tears. "Are you done? Can we have a man-to-man conversation now?"
Josh continued to sob as he nodded with tears in his eye.
"Here, take this and wipe your tears before you sit down." Zayn handed him a few pieces of tissue.
Josh took it and wiped away his tears and blew his nose. His red and puffy eyes met Zayn's gaze. "Daddy…" Josh choked up once again.
"It's only a matter of time before people die, Josh…" Zayn gazed at him softly. "We all have to face death one day, do not be discouraged when you face challenges!"
"But I don't want you to die, Daddy." Josh pouted as he looked at Zayn, teary-eyed.
"Daddy's not ready to die yet too." Zayn laughed. "I still want to bring Mommy, Randy, and Venus home. I want to watch all three of you become adults and see what kind of girl our little Josh is going to marry."
Josh snorted in laughter and a little bubble popped right out his nose. He quickly covered it with tissue in embarrassment.
"Are you going to stop crying now?" Zayn pinched Josh's cheeks. "I won't die for sure, it's just a possibility. So we shouldn't get upset about something that hasn't happened, alright?"
"We should face what's ahead of us boldly. Therefore, Daddy's going to seek treatment. As for you, Josh, you should study hard and keep this a secret from Mommy, Randy, and Venus."
